Difference Between Linkbuilding for SEO and PR

Posted by revealer on 21st June 2008

Slashto Says:

What is the difference between link building for PageRank and link building for Search Engine Optimization in Google?

Answer:

In Gogole, PageRank development and SEO both depend a lot on link building. The only difference between both the link-building strategies is that for better SEO you must get backlinks from websites having topic similar to your site and links must have proper anchor text according to your keywords. While this is not the case with link-building for PageRank development.

Site submission to Google MSN and Yahoo search engines

Posted by revealer on 21st June 2008

Rombel Says:

How do I submit my website to Google, MSN and Yahoo search engines?

Answer:

There are two known ways to submit your website to any search engine. First is to submit your site directly through the input form of search engines. Use following links to submit your site manually to Google, MSN and Yahoo, but your page may take several weeks to be indexed through this method.

http://Google.com/addurl

http://search.live.com/docs/submit.aspx?FORM=SUNO

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit

The other way is to link your webpage to a page already indexed in search engine. Bear in mind that backlink from pages having higher PageRank index your page to search engine earlier than those that have lower PageRank.

Onsite SEO and Offsite SEO

Posted by revealer on 21st June 2008

Mexicore Says:

I have seen webmasters using terms like “onsite SEO” and “offsite SEO” in different forums and articles. I am wondering what these terms are?

Answer:

All search engine optimization (SEO) strategies used within the webpage are called onsite or on-page SEO. These strategies may include managing title, keyword, alt tags on images, title on links, anchor text in links, headings, contents of a page, internal linking, etc.

Offsite means working on SEO out side a webpage. It is also called off-page SEO and may include banners, text and images ads, anchor text link building. I shall later discuss onsite and offsite SEO in detail in this blog.

GamesPond Says:

www.atlinx.com has six PageRank but when I request backlinks for this site in Google, Google shows no backlinks. I have checked that this site is listed in some directories. It is listed in open directory, yahoo and has many inbound links. How it has six PageRank?

Answer:

Check this site in yahoo site explorer for a better analysis, check if this site is linked in some pages having six or more PageRank.

Josh Says:

What is the difference in gray, white and green PageRank bar in Google toolbar?

Answer:

Gray bar means that Google has not yet assigned PageRank to a page. It may have many reasons. For example, googlebot has not yet discovered that page or the page has no inbound links or it is restricted for bots to go through this page in meta or robots.txt file. White bar indicates that page has 0 (zero) PageRank. Green bar is shown when PageRank is between 1 to 10.
