Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was born on December 25, 1949 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He is one of most popular political leader in Pakistan.

Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was twice elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan, His first term was from November 1, 1990 to July 18, 1993, and his second term was from February 17, 1997 to October 12, 1999 with two-third majority which was over taken by Pervaiz Musharraf, the Army chief of that time.

The major reasons of his popularity among Pakistani people are his bold decision making in the interest of state, and his not bowing before the establishment. One of his popular bold steps is nuclear tests on 28 May 1998 in response to India’s nuclear tests two weeks earlier.
